Gilbert & Sullivan
a selling exhibition of memorabilia

W.S Gilbert and Sir Arthur Sullivan, two of the greatest names in musical theatre history. Here a selection of memorabilia is presented for sale, ranging from theatre programmes to ceramics and including not only rare nineteenth century material, but also more recent items such as books, and souvenirs of D'Oyly Carte productions in the C20th. The independent work of both Gilbert and Sullivan is included, as well as some items relating to operetta by other authors and extra-curricular performances by D'Oyly Carte regulars.

I've divided the material into convenient chunks, so first enter the area of your choice. Then, if the item is still for sale, clicking on the link will open up a new page with a larger picture and details of dimensions, condition and price. Once sold, early items remain on the site, as we hope they will remain a useful resource to collectors. These can be viewed in the archive.

I'd welcome your wants-lists and will do my best to track items down. Those on my confidential mailing list will be informed as new material is added to the site. To join the list, just contact me.

Many other sites provide biographies of composer, lyricist and producer, so I make no attempt to duplicate the information here. However, if you'd like your site to be added to the links section, then please let us know. I'm also sometimes happy to use this space to make available G&S research which is not available elsewhere on the internet.

Specialising in rare theatre memorabilia, C20th.com is the website of Simon Moss, who is based in Kent, England. I'm always interested to receive wants-lists from serious collectors. The selling exhibitions on this site are formed from just a tiny portion of the wide stock I have available, and although I specialise in twentieth century material, my field covers productions from 1860, right up to the present day. Other current exhibitions include Julie Andrews and Maria Callas.
