Many hundreds of books have been written about Gilbert and/or Sullivan. We hope to be able to present a selection here, along with scores and libretti. Also copies of "The Gilbert & Sullivan Journal" and "The Savoyard" magazines. New items will generally appear at the top of the page.

I do not use standard book notation for size and condition, but try to describe any faults accurately and in plain language, as I feel that these are more generally understood.

HMS PINAFORE: illustrated 1879 American libretto

This especially attractive libretto, published in 1879 by G.W. Carleton & Co of Madison Square, includes six full page illustrations of some of the key characters.
